This year, National Testing Agency(NTA) will conduct NEET 2020 on May 3, 2020, in 2546 exam centres across 154 cities pan India. The mode of the examination will be pen and paper-based. What is NEET?
The abbreviation NEET stands for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. It is an Indian medical entrance test for students seeking admission in undergraduate MBBS, BDS, and Ayush Courses which includes BHMS, BAMS, BUMS, B.V.Sc and AH. The National Testing Agency(NTA) is the regulatory board of this entrance examination. As per the MCI notification, any Indian medical aspirant who wants to study MBBS in Indian or MBBS abroad needs to qualify NEET with the qualifying marks.

The air around the Upper Age Limit for NEET is still not crystal clear as the court cases related to age limit for NEET are still ongoing. Still there are several pronouncements and hearing pending decisions before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. Therefore, looking at the present scenario, the last interim order passed by the court is being followed, and in the words of officials- “the candidates above the age of 25 years are provisionally permitted to appear and their candidature is subject to the outcome of pending petitions before the Hon’ble Supreme Court”.
Candidates who are able to meet the designated eligibility criteria of NEET 2020 can apply and appear for the examination. Age Criteria
There is no upper age limit. Candidates must at least be 17 years of age by December 31, 2020.
Qualification Required
- Candidates must have qualified Class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English as subjects.
- Candidates appearing for their class 12 or equivalent are also eligible to appear for the exam.
Minimum Marks Required in the Qualifying Exam
Each candidate must have secured the following marks in their class 12 or equivalent in each subject and in aggregate:
- Unreserved category candidates — 50%
- PwD candidates — 45%
- Reserved Category candidates- 40
Additional Biology and Open School students
- Candidates with Biology as an additional subject in Class 12 are also eligible.
- Students who have completed Class 11 and Class 12 from open school are also eligible. (Subject to any new guidelines that may be announced by NTA).

Steps for Filling up the NEET 2020 Application Form-
The application form for NEET 2020 will be released by NTA on December 2, 2019, on its official website. Candidates are advised to keep all the mandatory documents ready before filling up the application form. Majorly there are five steps which needs to be followed for the filling up the NEET 2020 application form correctly.
Step 1- Registering for NEET 2020
The candidate needs to register on the NTA official website by entering their all the basic and mandatory details which include- name, email id, mobile number, gender, address, etc. After entering all these details, the candidate will get their provisional application number and login credentials.
Step 2- Login to fill NEET 2020 application Form
After registering, the candidate uses the login credentials to fill the personal, academic and communication details.
Step 3- Uploading documents, photograph and signature
The candidate needs to upload all the documents which are required in the application form. The dimension, size and other details and specification are mentioned in every section.
Step 4- Payment of NEET 2020 Application Fee
Once the application form is filled and verified by the candidate, the candidate further processes it for the payment. The mode of fee payment is through net banking, debit/credit cards, etc.
Students can pay the fee through cash deposit (e-challan) which needs to be paid at the State Bank of Indian branches only.

- Students need to wear short-sleeved shirt or t-shirt. Full sleeves are not allowed.

- Slippers and open sandals are allowed. Shoes are not allowed in the examination hall
